NOVOSENSE has launched a new high-precision, low-power remote digital temperature sensor NST141x series, which includes two product models, NST1412 and NST1413, and is suitable for board-level temperature measurement in notebook computers, servers and other applications to meet the needs of multi-point and high-performance temperature monitoring in various communications, computing and instruments.


The necessity of monitoring the internal hardware temperature of laptops and servers

The internal space of notebook computer is small, such as CPU, graphics card and hard disk, which are important sources of heat. Once these hardware exceed the normal temperature range, it will usually lead to the degradation of notebook computer performance, even the burning of graphics card components, and the loss of hard disk data and other risks. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the temperature of the core components of notebook computers.

While the server runs in a working environment with large data volume exchange and long standby time, the various user data and management software stored in it need a safe and stable environment, which puts forward higher requirements for hardware, and stability and reliability are particularly important. Therefore, as an indispensable part of the enterprise server hard disk, the temperature sensor can monitor the temperature of the hard disk in real time, actively control the read and write speed of the hard disk, and ensure data security.

How to realize temperature measurement protection of temperature sensor in notebook computer and server

Remote temperature measurement usually adopts low-cost discrete diode or triode to achieve multi-point temperature measurement with high cost performance. The NST141x series uses a single chip to solve the problem of multi-point temperature measurement. The board-level temperature measurement is realized through the highly reliable CMOS chip process. The temperature measurement range can reach - 40 ℃~125 ℃, ± 1 ℃ in the range of - 10 ℃~105 ℃, and ± 1.5 ℃ in the range of - 40 ℃~125 ℃. The 11Bit resolution is 0.125 ℃.

Nano-core micro NST141x series temperature sensor integrated series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideal factor( η Factor), programmable digital channel filter, offset correction and other advanced features can provide a reliable and stable temperature monitoring solution with higher accuracy and immunity for notebook and server board-level temperature measurement applications.
